Published: 25th August 2015 The Public Law Project is very proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Liberty Human Rights Lawyer of the Year Award 2015. PLP is nominated as an organisation, not for the work of a specific individual. We are particularly happy that the organisation is continuing to receive so much recognition in this, our 25th anniversary year. A spokesperson from PLP’s casework team said: “PLP was founded 25 years ago with the aim of improving access to public law remedies for those whose access to justice is restricted by poverty or some other form of disadvantage. We continue in our work to protect and promote access to justice, the need for which is at least as acute today as it was 25 years ago.” You can join us at the Liberty awards to celebrate the work of the many other exceptional nominees. The event is hosted by Jo Brand, who is joined by soul singer Lizzie Emeh, and multiple award-winning performance poet and writer Sabrina Mahfouz. You can buy tickets to attend the awards at The Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre for just £10. There is a link to buy tickets for the event, here, and a little more information about the awards here. Notes to editors: The Public Law Project (PLP) is an independent, national legal charity which aims to improve access to justice for those whose access is restricted by poverty, discrimination or other similar barriers.
